mapWendell Lorentz Construction was started in 1959 by, Wendell J Lorentz. He began his company, with one dump truck and one backhoe, working out of his home garage by himself.

Wendell Continue to grow the company over the next twenty years doing mostly residential construction around the greater Mankato area, during that time Wendell worked alongside his immediate family. During that time Wendell worked to build a foundation that would lead to growth in the coming years and generations to follow.

In the 1980’s Wendell’s son, Robert, took over the company and continued to grow the company his father had started. He expanded the business by adding additional pieces of equipment and building a shop to house and service the equipment. Over the next thirty years Robert, strived to work hard provide quality work that he has built his reputation on. He began to add commercial work to the company that had previously only specialized in residential work. Robert also used the reputation he had built to expand the list of clients that the company did work for and grow the area they covered expanding into northern Iowa and all parts of Minnesota.

Today, Wendell Lorentz Construction is a third generation locally owned family company that is run by a father and son duo, Robert and Andrew Lorentz. Currently Wendell Lorentz Construction employs 20 plus employees including several family members that do work year round, earth work and utilities in the summer and snow removal in the winter. Wendell Lorentz Construction has completed work in an area covering Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, and South Dakota.

Wendell Lorentz Construction specializes in residential excavation, utility street work, demolition, trucking, screening and snow removal. Wendell Lorentz Construction offers the ability to complete all projects large and small in an efficient time frame and still carry out the highest quality work that has built the company and has continued as the company grows.
